The Respect for Marriage Act has passed the Senate

The US Senate passed the Respect for Marriage Act a bipartisan vote of 61 to 36

now federal government to recognize all marriages, including same-sex marriages

The bill will now move to the House, where it could be approved by President going for signature

A handful of GOP senators co-sponsored the bill earlier this month

The purpose of this amendment was that the bill does not curtail religious freedom
