What is the cost of a Mega Millions ticket?
It pays $2 for each Mega Millions line. In order to play, you have to select six numbers from two different number pools: one number from 1 to 25 (the Golden Mega Ball) and five different numbers between 1 and 70 (drawn using white balls).
An additional option is the Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot if all six of your numbers match. The jackpot is disclosed prior to each drawing and is calculated based on past ticket sales.
In Mega Millions, there are nine different ways to win—from the jackpot to the return of your original ticket purchase. Other game options, such Power Play, which raises the ticket price to $3, can be included in place of this.
This option allows you to select a ball that, if it wins, multiplies your prize by the maximum of 10 times it appears in that ball. Moreover, selecting a different game option is available for an extra fee.
