Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The season finale of Percy Jackson and the Olympians honors the late actor Lance Reddick, who played Zeus in the Disney+ series.
According to Deadline, the Season 1 finale’s credits start with a title card that says, “In loving memory of Lance Reddick.” The actor, known for his roles in John Wick and The Wire, passed away suddenly from natural causes on March 17.
His role in Percy Jackson marks one of his final performances, as he passed away shortly after production ended.
Author Rick Riordan, among others, paid tribute to Reddick after his passing, stating “his gravitas and regal bearing made him perfect for the king of the gods.”
In addition to his work in film and TV, Reddick was an avid fan of video games and appeared in several, including the Destiny and Horizon franchises.
Fans of Destiny gathered in the game’s hub, The Tower, to honor Reddick, while Horizon: Forbidden West included an in-game tribute within its Burning Shores expansion.
